Wall Stencils in June's Room

Wall Stencils in June's Room

It’s time to do a makeover on June’s room! I’m so excited! Rather than spending hundreds of dollars on wallpaper, I decided to make my own with stencils. Here’s how I did it!

Paint Colors

The two main colors I used for this room are Golden Straw and Simply White - both by Benjamin Moore.

Then for the flowers, I used Blue Porcelain by Benjamin Moore as well as Ella Rose, and Garden Essential by Magnolia.

Materials

For this project I used these wall stencils, sponge brushes, and this paint palette!

Time to paint!

The stencil set came with a lot of options, but I only used the ones that had flowers. I avoided the ones with multiple patterns on one stencil, as I was unsure how they would turn out.

Someone asked if I used the same color for each stencil. No, I didn't. I chose colors spontaneously, applying whatever was needed as I staggered the colors across the room.

I put white paint under where each flower would be. It works as a glue so the stencil stays put and you get cleaner lines! Make sure to let the white paint dry completely and then go in with the color. This trick works like a charm!

I got a few questions asking how I spaced them out. I really just eyed it it! It seems like it’s going to be difficult to space them out. But once you get a few up on the wall, you can really see where the others need to be placed. I really wasn’t going for perfection - I think that makes it more charming less like a print or wallpaper!

So happy with the way it turned out!
